Welcome!

I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Astronomy at the University of Guanajuato in the central region of Mexico since 2015. I have done research stays at the CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science (Australia) and the Observatorio Astronomico Nacional (Spain).

Before moving back to Mexico, I spent 3 years at the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens (Greece) as a Postdoctoral Researcher and 4 years at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia (Spain), as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Previously, I was UNAM Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centro de Radioastronomia y Astrofisica (Mexico). I obtained my Ph.D. in Astronomy in 2006 from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico; my thesis was on “Maser Emission in Star-Forming Regions”.

PARTICIPATION IN SURVEYS

I am member of the Galactic ASKAP Spectral Line Survey (GASKAP) since 2010, now GASKAP-HI and GASKAP-OH which are approved survey science projects for the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP).

I am member of two Science Working Groups of the Square Kilometre Array: Our Galaxy and VLBI group.
